Biography

American new wave and pop rock group

American new wave and pop-rock band Cock Robin was founded in 1982 in Los Angeles by singer-songwriter Peter Kingsbery. The band's name is inspired by the 17th-century English nursery rhyme «The Death and Burial of Poor Cock Robin.».

In its early days, the band featured Peter Kingsbery (vocals, keyboards, bass, guitar), Anna LaCazio (vocals, percussion), Clive Wright (guitar), and Lou Molino (drums, percussion, backing vocals).

The first album, Cock Robin (1985), produced by Steve Hillage, launched the band onto the international stage with the singles “When Your Heart Is Weak” and “The Promise You Made,” which became 80s pop classics.

Two years later, *After Here Through Midland* (1987), produced by Don Gehman (John Mellencamp, R.E.M.), confirmed the band's success, particularly in Europe and France, driven by the title “Just Around The Corner.”.
In 1989, Cock Robin released First Love Last Rites, produced by Rhett Davies (Roxy Music). The song “Worlds Apart” achieved great success, particularly in France. Shortly after, the band broke up and Peter Kingsbery began a solo career.

After more than fifteen years of a break, Cock Robin reformed in 2006 and released *I Don't Want To Save The World*, followed by an international tour.

In 2010, Songs from a Bell Tower was released, recorded in Los Angeles with Pat Mastelotto (from the band King Crimson) on drums. The album marked a return to elegant, introspective pop. Clive Wright and Pat Mastelotto joined the promotional tour accompanying the album's release.

In 2015, Peter Kingsbery continued the adventure without Anna LaCazio, who was replaced by Coralie Vuillemin (vocals, keyboards). The group then released Chinese Driver in 2016, blending acoustic sounds with electronic influences, followed by the EP Lollobrigida (2017). The lineup then embarked on numerous European tours. In 2021, Cock Robin released their latest studio album, Homo Alien, confirming the project's longevity and creativity.

In 2023, the group officially separated.

After this separation, Peter Kingsbery continued his solo career and founded his own production company. He developed new artistic projects and supported young musicians in the production and development of their work, thus continuing a process of transmission and creation.
